In Experiential Multimedia Storytelling, students will explore all aspects of multimedia storytelling structures, technologies and audiences. Students will travel to New York City for an experiential field study of how storytelling functions in numerous media to shape messages, influence practices, and promote platforms. We will explore the types of storytelling while thinking critically about their efficacy, resonance, historical and current significance, and more. Because this is a practice course, students will produce media as practitioners focused on that storytelling exploration (i.e. produce daily vlogs, digital journals, multimedia storytelling compilations, etc., based on what they learn through our exploration of various storytelling outlets in New York City).
