Rebuilding (and Expanding) Democracy: A Workshop with Global Advocates HYBRID

HYBRID / Rebuilding Democracy enables students to gain certification in nonviolent organizing from the Nobel Peace Prize short-listed Center for Applied Nonviolent Actions and Strategies (CANVAS). Through a series of workshops, students learn how to build a vision statement, develop a strategy, and utilize effective tactics. International democratic advocates will also join the course to share their experiences and provide advice. The course will be co-taught with Srdja Popovic, who led the campaign to depose Serbian authoritarian leader Slobodan Milosevic, and Steve Parks, founder of the Democratic Futures Project.
