The course focuses on developing oral competency at the Novice (Mid/High)level.  In this two weeks intensive Japanese course, students will gain oral communication skills, how to apply the basic linguistic knowledge into real-life situations, while reviewing the Novice level grammar and vocabularies. This is an online synchronous course, which means we will meet for regular class sessions online via Zoom.

The course welcomes students who have been placed into JAPN1020, the second semester of the First Year Japanese, students who had studied some Japanese at the elementary level either in a class setting or independently and wish to improve on oral communication skills or those who have taken JAPN1010 and would like to strengthen speaking and listening skills before proceeding to a next level course.  This Japanese course does not cover the entirety of JAPN1010 thus it is not designed for complete beginners without prior knowledge of the language.
